Privacy Policy
How Oceanic Apparels collects, uses and protects your personal data.
Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER: effective date]
Oceanic Apparels Private Limited ("Oceanic Apparels", "we", "us") operates https://oceanicapparel.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have. We process personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it.
1. Who we are (Data Fiduciary)
Oceanic Apparels Private Limited, No. 18, West Cott Road, Royapettah, Chennai 600014, Tamil Nadu, India. GSTIN: 33AABCO6884E1ZE. Email: admin@oceanicapparel.com. Phone: +91 94445 44454.
2. What personal data we collect
When you submit an enquiry or contact us, we collect: your name, organisation name and type, phone number, email address (if provided), your city, the product category, quantity and timeline you ask about, and any message you send. We also record the date and time you gave consent.
When you use our website, we automatically collect technical data such as your IP address, browser/user-agent, the page you came from, and advertising and campaign parameters. These include Google click identifiers (gclid, gbraid, wbraid) and campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term), which tell us which advertisement or link brought you here. These identifiers are stored in first-party cookies on your device for up to 90 days and are saved alongside your enquiry.
3. Why we use it (purposes)
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare quotations
- To process and fulfil bulk uniform orders
- To contact you about your order and, where you have consented, about reorders and offers
- To understand website performance and improve our services (analytics)
- To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations
4. Consent and legal basis
We process your data based on your consent and for the legitimate purpose of responding to a request you initiate. Where we rely on consent (for example, marketing or reorder messages), you may withdraw it at any time — withdrawing is as easy as giving it. To withdraw consent or opt out of marketing messages, contact us at the details in Section 9, or reply STOP to any WhatsApp/SMS message.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking, to measure traffic, understand which advertisements lead to genuine enquiries, and improve the site. You can control these through the consent banner shown on your first visit and through your browser settings. Non-essential/analytics cookies are set only after you consent.
Advertising measurement
If you reach us by clicking a Google advertisement, we store the click identifier described in section 2 in a first-party cookie for up to 90 days and record it with your enquiry. We use it only to understand which advertisements produce real business.
Where a lead progresses to a quotation or an order, we may upload a one-way hashed (SHA-256) form of your email address and phone number, together with that click identifier, to Google Ads so it can be matched to the original click. Google's documentation describes this as "enhanced conversions" and "offline conversion import". Hashing happens before transmission — we do not send Google your email address or phone number in readable form for this purpose, and this data is not used to build an advertising profile of you or to retarget you.
If you would prefer us not to include your enquiry in advertising measurement, contact our Grievance Officer (section 9) and we will remove it.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (for example, website hosting, analytics, and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp), under appropriate safeguards, and with authorities where required by law.
7. How long we keep it (retention)
We retain enquiry and customer data only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal/tax obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. [PLACEHOLDER: state your retention period, e.g. enquiry data kept for X years].
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may: access the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct or update it; ask us to erase it; withdraw consent; nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity; and raise a grievance. To exercise any right, contact our Grievance Officer (Section 9). We will respond within the timelines required by law.
